Countless activities for adventurers

Active holidays in the Dolomites

Roughly 300 days of sunshine per year await in the heart of the Puster Valley, South Tyrol, just a few minutes’ drive from the town of Bruneck, making it the perfect destination for countless activities. Whether you’re an adventurer or an aficionado, wanting an active or cultural break, you’ll be surprised by the many things you can do when you stay at our B&B at the Kronplatz mountain.

From spring to autumn, the region boasts great weather and the perfect temperatures for hiking, cycling, climbing or swimming on your holiday in the Dolomites.

Beautiful hikes start on our doorstep and can take you to the Kronplatz adventure mountain, the Sonnenburg castle or the Ahntal Valley and up to the three-thousanders of the Zillertal Alps. You can also cycle from our B&B in St. Lorenzen at the Kronplatz mountain, taking the Pustertal Valley Cycle Trail to Mühlbach and Brixen or San Candido and Toblach, and even across the border to Lienz. A cycling tour through the beautiful Ahrntal valley is also a must. Visiting the nearby Dolomites, granted UNESCO World Heritage Site status in 2009, is also a very special experience. Active tourists can immerse themselves in this fascinating paradise featuring bizarre rock formations and idyllic mountain lakes by crossing the Val Badia valley: Countless hiking trails, many great routes for mountain biking, mighty mountain summits and easy to challenging via ferrata climbing routes will transform your summer holiday into a genuine adventure. The nearby swimming pools and occasional natural bathing ponds offer refreshment on hot summer days. The rivers, by contrast, are perfect for rafting. The bravest tourists may even dare to take flight in a paraglider or hang glider and be rewarded with sensational views.

Our local mountain, the Kronplatz, transforms into an idyllic ski region that attracts countless locals and tourists to its slopes in winter. Skiers and snowboarders can enjoy the glorious panoramic vistas, from the Zillertal Alps to the Dolomites. Cosy cabin restaurants with magnificent sun terraces serving traditional South Tyrolean fare offer the perfect opportunity to stop and rest. The lifts to South Tyrol’s top ski resort are just a few minutes’ drive away. Ski buses to the lifts also run regularly. And if the perfectly groomed pistes at the Kronplatz are not enough for you, the world’s largest and most diverse ski carousel, the Dolomiti Superski, is easily accessible from our guest house. Here, the nearby Alta Badia ski resort with the world-famous Gran Risa Piste (used for the World Cup) and the famous Sella Ronda ski circuit boast excellent ski conditions in the heart of the Dolomites. Cross-country skiers on holiday in the Dolomites can look forward to endless cross-country ski trails and well-groomed World Cup routes near our B&B at the Kronplatz.

Away from the slopes, there are fairytale winter hiking routes, pristine powder snow for sensational ski tours and snowshoe hikes, snowy slopes for fun sled rides and frozen mountain lakes for ice skating.
